The winners of the 2014 Florida Communities of Excellence Awards were announced on May 2 at the Gala Awards Ceremony at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando. These awards are the only recognition program for community associations throughout Florida. This is the sixth year that the awards are recognizing communities and managers for outstanding achievements.
These awards are points of pride for current residents and they have a powerful impact on communities seeking to attract new owners. The awards are independently judged by a panel of industry and government professionals who help recognize communities for their best practices and accomplishments.
Pines of Delray West won the 2014 Award for Financial Innovation. Pines of Delray West in Delray Beach cut costs in every area. They have rebid contracts and evaluated when to use a contractor or in-house services; pool service was switched to a vendor, while janitorial services were brought in-house. Switching to a new insurance company provided the biggest savings, but other savings were achieved by utilizing e-mail more, reducing gas allowances for employee transportation and consolidating landscaping services. The association also established a Financial Committee with non-board residents to increase transparency. Pines of Delray West has been a client of Campbell Property Management for seven years and is managed by Teri Fifth.
Two other associations managed by Campbell were recognized as finalists at the Gala:
- Camino Real Village in the Financial Innovation Category, managed by David Diaz
- Turtle Cay HOA for "The Comeback Kid" award, managed by Richard Kuperman
Campbell manager, Richard Kuperman was also honored at The Manager's of Excellence luncheon where he was presented with a 2014 Manager's of Excellence Award.
A big congratulations to all of this year's winners!
